Robert J.


Robert J. has been a mainstay in the Wisconsin music scene ever since releasing his first record Boys Town in 1986. Robert won the Wisconsin Male Vocalist of the year in 2003 and has won many songwriting awards including the Billboard Song Contest for his tune, "A Million Miles Away". Currently, Robert J. is about to release 2 CDs on the same day this November 20th. "A Beautiful Blur" is a AAA/singer/songwriter/Americana record and "The Revenge of the Rowdy Prairie Dogs" is an Americana/Country-rock CD. Recently, Robert sang two songs for the new full length Indy film, "Madison" due to hit the film festival circuit this coming fall and winter and he placed another song in that film as well. This September, Robert J. won first place in the Berghoff & Blues Talent Search and played an opening slot at the Berghoff & Blues festival with Sonny Landreth and James Cotton. 

Robert J. has recorded 4 albums as a solo artist, including.......

"Boys Town"(1986), "Dixie Highway" (1991), "No Brakes, No Choice, No Exit"(1994) and Family Tree(1999).

Also, Robert J. is the principle songwriter for the Wisconsin band, The Moon Gypsies, who have released 3 Cd's  
including their self-titled debut(1999), "Slip"(2002) and "I Ride A Hog"(2003).

In 1999, Robert J. won the Billboard songwriting contest in the Blues/
R&B category for his song, "A Million Miles Away".

In 2003, he won a WAMI(Wisconsin Area Music Award) for Male Vocalist  
of the Year.
